I’ve had so many comments about this tea set … it’s been quietly ‘curing’ for the last month or so and is ready to go to its new forever home!! The matching teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl are Maxwell & Williams ‘Cashmere’ and sthe plate is Casa Domani ‘Pearlesque’.
The set has been hand painted with alcohol inks, embellished with an overlay of gold and bronze accents. Each piece looks like a mini landscape in the most beautiful browns, blues and metallics.
As for all my alcohol ink art on china, after painting, the china is ‘cooked’, then sealed with dishwasher safe varnish, and cooked again. In theory they are dishwasher safe and I have tested my own mugs and they have been perfectly fine, but personally I wouldn’t recommend anything other than handwashing with regular detergent and a soft sponge (no scourers!). Probably best to not soak for too long, or put in the microwave because metallics!
