This is a fabulous activity to make your own usable art.
A plain white mug, some alcohol inks, and voila … your creation is truly your own. No two will be the same! I use the same good quality china I use in the shop (usually Maxwell & Williams or Casa Domani). If you’d prefer, you can substitute silk scarves for the mugs or do one of each 🙂
Make one for yourself, a friend, your mum, or start early on beautiful Christmas gifts that are unique and handmade.
A creative and crafty afternoon! You’ll finish your mug, but there is a little stage 2 – you mug needs to be ‘cooked’ and glazed which I’ll do, and then your mug/s will be ready for collection around 1 week after the workshop.
Cost includes all materials and snacks 🙂
What’s included for the workshop:
- 3 x alcohol inks in your choice of colour
- 1 x Extender or isopropyl alcohol
- 2 x white china mugs (usually Casa Domani or Maxwell & Williams)*
- 2 x pairs of gloves
- 2 x bendy straws. Yes, I know they’re plastic but they do work the best in the absence of a paper alternative.
- 1 x baby wipes. The best thing to clean sticky hands!
- 1 x rubbish bag
- 1 x paint-on sealer/varnish
- 1 x paint brush for sealer
- Paper towel and baking paper
- 1 x Yupo paper (more about this in the instructions!)
Additional inks and metallic markers will be available for you to use if you choose.
And of course, snacks are included if you’re at a workshop. Make sure you tell me if you have any special requirements, eg gluten free etc.
If you can’t make it in person, I can put a kit together so you can make it yourself at home!
* if you’d prefer, a scarf can be substituted for a mug.
